A small doubt

Hello people !!
Well, as some you know, they already gave me the approval to put the bomb, but I have some little doubts, to see if those who have a bomb can help me. I know not all communities work the same, not all hospitals, but good, something orientative ...
Let's see, for the 17th, they have given me an appointment with the nurse, although I am not even sure if it is an appointment of the usual, or that I already start with the course on the pump. The truth that they have summoned mePretty, at 15: 45, but hey ... and if it were the course ... more or less of how many days is the course?
Then, for mid -February, I have an appointment with the new endocrine in charge of the theme of the bombs, for which I will have to carry a new analytical ... for that day they will put the bomb? How is this going?I have no idea, and I am lost on this subject ...: Oops :: oops:
Thanks for everything

Kekiya, I have no idea because as you have said, every hospital and CC.AA. is a world. In my case, I had a minimum 4h formation for the bomb and then all those that I needed until I felt sure.I gave the 4h in two days, and the third (at the third week, they were every Monday) I threw myself to the pool quietly.I have read there that it is more or less the same.I do not know if your appointment with the endocrine will be to put it on, at least I suppose it will be to adjust dose (before or after putting it on any way), it would be best to call the hospital and ask, that for something they are.

Do not give him many laps, in principle learning to use the pump is very simple, not much time is required.Surely they will give you one to get it with it and read the manual, and in the course they explain something more thoroughly and you can consult the doubts ... Each hospital works in one way, they will already tell you what you have to do.

Thank you very much to everyone.
I can imagine what the courses are going, and the one that can be treated or learned. What is not the duration of the course.Of the bombs, and I do not know if the course will last from this month of November to February that I have the appointment with the endo, or will end before, and for that February appointment they already put it already ... or as that process was going.

Hi Keki, the course did not last anything to me at 9 a.m.At the end of the 14th, I will quote for the month and the bomb for it to tarte and manipulate it, a month I did not go with the educator, went with the endo (like a psychologíco tes) and see what inflation system they put me, catheter size, of abuja and control the bomb, I give me quote a month with the endo and several doctors, after some questions click on them, and so happy.
That if be careful with what agan because I was2 -liter glucosado serum and 3 glucabón, so you are very careful.

Hi Kekiya, I tell you a little as my process was approved by the Pump by the Medical Committee.

I had an initial first appointment with the nurse where the sample bomb taught me a bit, to raise the first doubts and explained the process. Then I had a meeting with a girl who carries the bomb that was explaining to me as she went to her and I could raise some more practical doubts. Then I had a couple of meetings with the nurse to work the entire subject of the portions, Ratio CH: insulin, insulin sensitivity, etc, etc ... and finally we had a meeting with the bomb commercial where he explained to us howThe most basic worked and we took it home to practice.

With all this we had a couple of meetings with the nurse to consult doubts, until we were finally (a partner who also put the bomb and I) a week admitted to the hospital where they controlled us everything. The first day we put the bomb with the commercial and then we had daily meetings with the nurse, the endocrine and the dietitian and we just controlled the machine.

After discharge, we have had 3 more meetings with the nurse to consult the difficulties, in addition to email communication. And soon we will have another meeting with the commercial to explain the advanced bomb options.

The truth is that I do not complain about visits hehejje, but at the moment of truth, no matter how much they explain to you, until you are at home alone with her do not learn that it is to live with the bomb.

The whole process until high lasted about 3 months and now I have been putting it for 4 months, although the controls are not yet 100% I hope that we will gradually improve.

VAAAAAAAAAA PIECE OF ROLL :))

Ask whatever you want!

All the best,

Wow, thanks Olguilla.
What I did not know is that they left you admitted ... more, it will swear that in most sites, you do not enter to put a bomb ... or am I confusing myself ???
At least it would be good to know, pro if they have to enter me, then ask me for then my vacation at work and thus be calmer, since I do not like to miss, or hunch my colleagues ...

Hello,

As already said, it depends on how each hospital has.In mine it is done so, but the nurse told us that in others, patients were going to eat every day to practice the portions and present doubts. And I suppose that in some then you are going home and you have visits from time to time with the specialists. If I had admission, I suppose they would have told you, right?

They do not enter you here, it seems a bit exaggerated to admission for a week to put on a bomb: shock: ... here we had a talk with the Metronic delegate, he taught us the basic functions of the bomb and left us to take it toHouse, we returned the next week to ask you doubts and see if we already drove with it and they already connected it.Then we already returned to the endocrine consultation to adjust basal.I think I remember that the month of connecting it was already perfectly adjusted and operating one hundred percent.
But as each hospital has its protocol you should ask in yours to get out of doubt.

The truth is that the week of income was not essential. We did the issue of rations with the nurse and the dietitian, but considering that the two have been diabetic and with quite good controls for more than 20 years and that we had already made some sessions with the nurse, because it is not that it came from new.And then they adjusted the basal, which they had to do again as soon as we left the hospital and we went to real life 8).But well, in certain cases it can be very necessary, as with people who need to learn everything little by little and calmly.

Claro Olguilla, when returning to real life you have to adjust everything that is why I find the income very unhappy, it seems to me that it is better to adjust making everyday life ... and for the theme of the portions, ratios, sensitivity youThey can teach it in a few visits to the nurse without having to have you 24 hours in a hospital ... let's go, somewhat exaggerated seems to me: Mrgreen:

Well here we continue with the learning process, but now a "absurd" doubt comes to me, that I imagine that you can solve it without problems, (it is hurry to ask my nurse something so ... silly, hehehehe)
Well, you will see, until now, I pointed the glycemia in a little book that gives me the house Lifescan, and there I wrote down my glycemiah, as my insulin units (novorapid and levemir)...
How should I aim at the booklet? Is the same booklet or is a different one used? How do I write out the bowling and basal ones? What do you use?
thanks for everything :)

Hi Kekiya,

In my case, both the pump and the glucometer have Bluetooth and gave us a device that receives the signal and downloads the information on the computer. So you just have to print or send the data by mail.

It is no silly question, I would ask the nurse.

A kiss,

I sip, but I continue with the same meter, and I think that neither the bomb nor the meter have bluetooth ..... Also, to make corrections, I have always done my little book ... the other I see well to take themeasurements to endo, but to make corrections, I think that I would get less (at least at the beginning) with the booklet. They will put, and to correct and write down basal, bowling, figures .... I will need another type of booklet ...

The bomb that will give you, I see it, has Bluethooth, at least they have given me a USB to be able to download the pump data in a program and I suppose they will give you the contour link meter that has wireless connection with the pump as wellthat you can download all the data.
So far I have used a notebook where I point the bowling and glycemia, such as when I wore feathers
With the Medtronic bomb there is also a notebook to aim everything, basal and bowling ...

Well, I don't know if there is a special book for when you carry the bomb, but maybe I would do well to do as a table model with Excel or a Word table that is comfortable and practical for you, print it and score things there.
