The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has issued an important notice for users of the MySugg application on iOS devices. As reported by the developer Mysuger GmbH, based in Austria, the MySugr - Diario for Diabetes application could be providing incorrect insulin dose recommendations, which could put user health at risk.

The problem is that the value of the insulin correction factor (ICF), when entering the application in the MMOL/L measurement unit, can be applied incorrectly in the bowling calculator. This could lead to the application to suggest a dose of insulin greater than necessary, which in turn could cause hypoglycemia, a potentially dangerous condition for diabetes patients.

To solve this problem, the AEMPS and MySugr GmbH recommend that all users of iOS devices immediately update the MySugg application to the latest available version (3.99.1).

After the update carefully review the adjustments of the bowling calculator, paying special attention to the insulin correction factor (ICF) to ensure that it is correctly configured.

This problem affects the users of the MySugr application in iOS that use compatible devices such as ACCU-Chek Aviva Connect, ACCU-Chek Guide, ACCU-CHEK GUIDE ME, ACCU-CHEK INSTANT AND NOVO NORDISK NORDISK NOVO PEN.

These devices are common among people who manage their diabetes through technology and depend on the accuracy of these tools to calculate the appropriate insulin dose.

The MySugr company has sent an informative note to the affected users, both by email and through a notification within the application, warning about the problem and the measures that must be taken.

It is strongly recommended that, in addition to updating the application, users review the adjustments of the bowling calculator every time they manage insulin, especially the first time after the update and periodically thereafter.

For any questions or problem related to the application, MySugr has made available to users a customer service, which can be contacted through the email support@mysugr.com.
