A week ago the endocrinologist called me to try a new sensor that they are starting to use in the Health system, I don't know if only in Catalonia or at the level of the entire State.

The new sensor is from Roche Diabetes Care, and is calledAccu-Chek SmartGuide and with 2 apps.

I would like to know the opinions of those who are using this device today.

My experience with the Roche sensor has not been good:

• Sensor life 14 days
• Pain and swelling in the application area.
• After 9 days of operation it stopped working and I had to remove it.
• It has 2 mandatory calibrations to start the readings but then if you need to adjust more due to important deviations, there are none.
• Customer service is only available from Monday to Friday.
• The home screen of the Roche app has a 3-hour period graph with the Y-axis very compressed, showing a false sense of unchanged Glucose stability.
• The accuracy of the readings have been quite similar within the normal Glucose range.
• The alarms are very basic.
• It seems that the Roche sensor requires time to show rapid glucose changes.
• Use 2 Apps.One for reading and another for Prediction App (the only difference with LibreLink) which can be interesting if you don't know how to anticipate the ups and downs.

Both Abbot and Roche make the same mistake:

• Both have very closed systems.
• We can only see what Abbot or Roche decides.
• They do not have Widgets.
• They have no shortcuts.
• None of them facilitate the variation of glucose per minute to anticipate rapid glucose changes, which I only get with third-party apps.
  
• They do not integrate with Health Apps (iPhone)
• Little customization in both.
• The reliability of the readings has been better maintained in Free.
• The information in the LibreLink App is better organized and presented.

And they force me to use third-party applications to have Glucose values ​​locally, which allow my own control, that is, deciding, anticipating and making my own interpretations of the readings and including my own alerts.

I will continue with LibreLink.

A mi me han dado a probar Dexcom, en Madrid ha ganado el concurso. El miércoles lo probaré pero la enfermera de familia me ha dicho que es más fiable y que le gusta más.  

Dexcom si se puede calibrar pero no es obligatorio.
