What pump do I choose?

I was with my endocrinologist and asked about using the insulin pump since I was staying up late at night and she referred me to the educator to have a refresher on the "best practices" and she showed me the 3 pumps that they usually use in the hospital, the Medtronic, the tandem, and the ypsopump.Although I have chosen the ypsopump because it is the smallest and can be controlled from the mobile phone, just like I do with the libre 2 plus.I have doubts about whether it is the most suitable for me.

I am a person who in winter goes through all the nooks and crannies of where I live, and as soon as the sun rises I like to go to the countryside or the beach. I don't want something that limits me and that is a hindrance at bedtime. What can you tell me about that?

I apologize in advance for disturbing you, if my doubts may be banal for those of you who already use a pump.

Good morning,

I am a patient who made the decision after a lifetime of pens and rapid insulins plus Basal insulins, great progress and at the same time great sacrifice, to switch to insulin pump treatment.I was reluctant to use Bomba treatment for many years because I honestly did not consider that it contributed much to feather treatment, but that changed when the algorithms came out and Diabetes control could be made better and more comfortable.

What changed?: First of all, being able to use a single type of insulin, ultra-rapid or rapid insulin, and doing away with basal insulins, which even though it is a great advance, if you are an athlete, hypoglycemia is terrible, which makes you consume a lot of carbohydrates and a terrible weight gain, which also makes it more difficult to control your general health and Diabetes in particular.

Let's go with the pumps: in my case I decided on Ypsopump, after doing an exhaustive study of the three models that you mention. Why in my opinion did Ypsopump win?:

Latest generation Cambridge algorithm that is currently still in the study phase, Small pump, very light in weight and with pre-filled cartridges, You can bathe or shower with it, You control it from your phone, it has infusers that rotate 360*, it allows you to adjust all the parameters if there are changes in your daily activity, it allows you to communicate small intakes to the algorithm so that it controls the rise in blood glucose without having to give extra boluses, I could go on but I think this can help you.give an idea of why I decided on Ypsopump. After three years of use, I am very satisfied with both the Pump and Ypsomed, they are always there to resolve questions or problems. Finally, my times in range are usually between 93-96% and my glycations are below 6 and it goes without saying that I lose all the weight I gain with basals.

I hope I have been able to help you, Cheer up and I am glad that you decided to switch to Bomba, now the decision of the model is yours.

Greetings

many gThank you @Ypso23 for your message, it clarified doubts I had about the use of the pump, and if it was worth it, since I have been using Novorapid and Tresiba pens for more than 30 years (I used Lantus years ago) and I have already decided on it.Although I will have to wait because hyperthyroidism has arisen, and the endocrine doctor has told me that we must first fix the thyroid, and then they will put the pump on me.

Good morning, last Thursday I had my annual check-up with my endocrinologist and he offered to put me on the waiting list to request the pump, but I have no idea what brands or how it works.

I'm from Seville and I don't know what brands they offer here.

Does anyone with experience recommend me or know which one is the best or the one that works best?

I don't know if it has improved but I returned the Ypso.Only 2 phone models allowed you to connect it (and they weren't exactly the cheap ones and they didn't even give you a remote control like Abbot did at the beginning of the bomb era. Change your cell phone, or you see, it's your health, they told you. Could it be that they have an agreement with those only cell phone models on which it worked??).I lost connection frequently (which I reported made many coworkers upset, because they no longer knew if it was something to worry about or not; but be careful, where I work there is rarely poor coverage). The batteries didn't last at all (many didn't even last a day and a half) Every 2x3 to change them and on top of that not just any one was worth it.I rejected many.It was a problem living in a small town.It was thought ysopump that the supermarket here is going to have all the brands of batteries at my disposal.

The application was updated and it got worse. It didn't pair or if it did the app would hang.Conclusion.To return it.

The best one I've had, one of the first, was Abbot's, the first one, but they don't sell it anymore.Since it didn't fail and lasted, it wasn't interesting, and then they didn't sell anymore.Program obsolescence now.Whatever you choose, it will be fine for a while.After.....

It depends on the hospital. In V del Rocío, which is my hospital, they have a concert with Medtronic.I applied for ypsopump and was denied.Waiting if there is any change.
