Elevise Diabetes Care has announced this week that it has launched its improved version of the Contaur Diabetes application in 24 countries around the world.
This latest version includes the new My Patterns tool, which uses innovative algorithms to more intelligently analyze the results of blood glucose received through the contaur diabetes measurement, in addition to displaying personalized outstanding comments for patients.
These comments are designed to help patients improve diabetes self-treatment and maintain positive changes in lifestyle.
The updated application Contour Diabetes has just been launched recently in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, India, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Slovenia,Spain, Switzerland and the United States, adding to the releases in Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland that took place in 2017. This new launch is now available in the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
The Contaur Diabetes application was first launched in 2016, and has been designed to connect by complete with the Contour Diabetes meter.
The My Patterns characteristic of the Improved Application Contaur Diabetes analyzes the data received from the meter to identify and notify the sub-phytimal behaviors of the user in their blood glucose readings. When the user has been notified that the behavior has been identified, the Contaur Diabetes application will give entry to users about the possible causes of behavior, providing address to help it.
It allows patients to establish reminders of test plans that help improve their blood glucose behaviors, monitoring their progress to see if behavior improves over time. The latest version of the application includes the ability to recognize 14 different behaviors and use 11 different structured test plans. The application will continue to evolve in the future to include additional behaviors and test plans, in addition to adding new features and functionality.
My Patterns has developed using evidence -based behavior concepts that come from the information type model, motivation and behavioral skills (IMB) instead of health behavior, with health psychologists, Dr. William Fisher and theDoctor Jeffrey Fisher.
This research model demonstrates that people with diabetes need information with action, motivation to act on information and establish specific behavior skills, with the aim of carrying out changes that improve the self-treatment of their diabetes.Studies that evaluate this model have shown that the presence of the three elements in people with diabetes is associated with more frequent blood glucose tests and improved self-treatment actions.
But ... is it reliable?
The company itself warned the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) that an incorrect data transfer of the contour meter NEXT One could occur to the Deluxe Glucofact Diabetes Management Program, which is dedicated to data managementFor blood glucose meters of the Contour brand and allows data downloading from the meter to a computer in order to facilitate the user's blood glucose control.
The problem generated by this defect is that if the incorrect values of carbohydrates and insulin transmitted from the meter to the program were used to determine the insulin dose or to adjust the treatment could be made wrong decisions on the doses tomanage.
The company has now explained that Contantour Diabetes incorporates the new function of my patterns, which identifies glycemic trends and patterns between the data of blood glucose readings carried out with the meter.Once the employer is notified, the application suggests its possible causes and offers guidance to help improve that situation.
All this facilitates the self -management of the disease and helps to achieve positive changes in the lifestyle of people with diabetes, as long as there are no mistakes.
