A Thai who has devised an application to diagnose diabetes immediately and through a photograph of the eye retina won the Grand Prize of the International Inventions Salon.
The Thai and his team use an application that scan the retina with software that provides an immediate diagnosis, the organization explained in a statement.
The text also reports that the application is useful in regions with a shortage of health centers because it does not require hospital facilities.
"In seconds, the photograph of the retinas is sent to a medical center and the diagnosis is made," reads the text.
Retinal alterations, which can even become blindness, are often an indicator of this disease.
"The application developed by Thai M. Tandibundit and his team not only allows a very simple and immediate scan, but also diagnoses the severity of diabetes."
