Walking at a fast pace could be more effective than running to control the blood sugar levels of people with diabetes, according to a new study conducted by doctors from the University of Duke, in North Carolina.

According to the conclusions of the study - in which the response of 150 people with prediabetes was evaluated to different changes in their lifestyles - the fact that walking is more effective than running would obey for the effects that each of these practices haveAbout the organism.

Exact fat burns not very high fer, but you have to walk quickly for that.Walking is a great sport that does not damage the articulations very beneficial to health, but as you know and perhaps something can be exaggerated that would well be quick an hour and a half a day.Many people do not understand walking as a sport but it is a great sports discipline that helps us fight with our diabetes.

Fat burns in a ratio of 140-150 drives, just because of the simple fact avoid the impact of the stride when running, the walk is already more beneficial.

@Luvi those of the 140-150 pulsations is a very personal issue, each one moves in a range depending on its maximum heart rate, its resting frequency and their age.It would be more correct to say that fat is consumed within more or less intervals between 60-70% of the FC according to the Karvonen formula.

I walk very, very quickly one hour and a half ... so I can contrast the study data ...
I do not know if it burns fat because it is not low, but glycemia a lot.It leaves me at Hicm to go well HC of home.I usually have to recharge HC halfway.

I do not notice improvement in the joints or other things, yes, the twins grow and the pants do not enter ...

Completely agree, walk burns and helps lower glycemia, but in my view other sports such as swimming or running (bad for joints that are) are better.
I explain myself;If I go out after eating, the blood glucose of that meal comes down;But if I run or swim, I get the one with that meal, the dinner and if I am hurricated by breakfast the next day

Last year I walked hour and fourth every day, almost 7 km and a lot of kilos.Now as the same and I do nothing, conclusion, I have recovered weight and won something else, because as. Cosas that I do not eat before and I have the sugar.Let's see if this month I put the batteries with the holidays and in September Espabilquite well.

@Jota you should control a little if you produce that sugar envelope, that is, not wait two hours to do the analysis, but do it before to see how the glucose behaves and instead of taking that sugar envelope because three cookies(or those that are) and they cause you less peak (if the sugar envelope produces) to be a slower absorption HC.

I agree that going out to walk quickly is a very effective way to lower glycemia ... but I have heard from some people in my environment that the ideal is to walk just after eating ... andIn my particular case it is impossible to me because I have tried several times but they give me some terrible arcades and I have ended up vomiting lunch on a couple of occasions ..... I tell my doctor and told me that instead of going out toWalking just after eating I waited for two hours (I have always had slow and heavy digestions) and after that prudential time I went out to do my time or hour and a half of exercise ......... you think there is a lot of variation inGlucose levels for walking after eating or having waited a minimum of two hours ????

It increases the fast. The exercise, just after eating, is not the best either.

Many times as high glucemic content, 1 orange, 1 banana and 1/2 apple and blood glucose endures anything, in 35 minutes doing aerobics I am already in 140 vertical arrow down.The endo told me to eat a small snack with 80 grams of bread but if I have to be based on snacks every time I exercise it by what was served .. !!!

What accounts for me since 2004 when I started hypoglycemia: I can never eat only fruit, yogurt and nuts (or any of its combinations) and go to exercise, however soft.Even without exercising in two hours I get a lot.
You have an alternative to the white flour sandwich: some biscotte or integral cookies, which rise slower and more kept ... Test :-)
